Fun Fact

My Top Issues

Invest in crime prevention

As a veteran and father, I know the value of safe neighborhoods. I’ll advocate for fully supported police, fire, and emergency services—and for community programs that build trust, reduce crime, and keep our families safe.

Balance development with neighborhood preservation

Canal Winchester is growing—and we need to guide that growth with intention. I support development that preserves our small-town feel while expanding opportunities for residents. That means thoughtful zoning, smart infrastructure investments, and long-term planning that puts our community first.

Attracting and retaining businesses

Let’s make Canal Winchester a place where businesses want to grow. I’ll work to attract new businesses, support local entrepreneurs, and ensure we create good-paying jobs right here in our city—so more families can live and work in our community.

Who I'm Running Against

Laurie Amick (Independent)

Retired. Running for reelection for Canal Winchester City Council.

Hannah Detwiler (Democrat Party)

Works for the State of Ohio. Is endorsed by the Ohio Democratic Party.

Shane Finkle (Independent)

Running for first time. Pro business.

James Holter (Independent)

Far right candidate. Believes in focusing on Canal Winchester only and not surrounding communities.

Chuck Miliken (Republican Party)

Previously served on Canal Winchester City Council but did not win his reelection. Previously endorsed by the Republican Party, but caused controversy because he is a federal worker (mailman). Formally Canal Winchester City Council President.

Patrick Shea (Independent)

Running for reelection for Canal Winchester City Council. Very outspoken member of council, only council member to vote against apartments. Small business owner.
