Past Experience

{"skills":"I am a diplomatic human who intimately understands the daily life of those in poverty and those with privilege. This makes me an empathetic and inclusive leader even before the word \"equity\" was a part of the education lexicon. I am a former teacher, school founder and principal, district leader, policy designer and advocate. Most importantly is I have two children in the West Orange system at the high school and elementary school level. ","achievements":"I successfully catalyzed two special board meetings focused on progress monitoring of newly implemented curriculum. I successfully advocated and designed a math sequence that supports more gateways for students into advanced mathematics. The opt-in policies have been refined and are more transparent than ever. ","responsibility":"I was appointed to the board in the winter of 2023. I ran for the seat in the fall of 2024 and won the seat. I have since become a part of curriculum committee advocating for better math sequencing for all children as well as better alignment between board approved instructional materials and the happenings in the classroom.
