My Top Issues
Increasing affordable housing options
We live in a moderate income community that didnt build new housing or multifamily for about 15 years. We have to expand the housing units in our city to keep up with demand which will lower prices by increasing competition.
Investing in park maintenance and improvement
I served on the metropolitan parks district committee. We are known for having a great parks system in lacey but that comes at a cost. We need to figure out how to maintain the level of service while balancing the budget.
Taxes
The voters have recently turned down 2 new proposed tax increases. Our community like many others is clearly on the edge economically. We have to figure out how we can reduce spending until the economy gets to a better place and our revenue increases. We cant pass that down to our residents right now.
